Blister Cards Are the backbone of Blister Packaging

Blister cards are an economical and efficient way to enclose a variety of products from office supplies, toys, hardware, electronics, and pharmaceutical products. Blister card packaging is used all around the globe due to its convenient way of displaying the products.  It will allow you to leave a long-lasting impact on customers as it will act as a tamper-resistant packaging solution. It can be tailored in any shape, style, and size with hang tabs and other additional features to boost the outer gaze of products.

How does it work?

The vacuum-formed housing heat-sealed to the back of the card prevents tampering. It is easily recognized when the blister cards packaging is disturbed. At the same time period, the transparency of the custom Blister Cards pack lets the product to be shown, rather than just an image. Viewing the product is better than any high-resolution image.

This means that a potential buyer can be much closer to the product without being loose. Much of the adulteration in retail is not related to theft but caused by a frustrated consumer just wanting to get a better look at the product, to see if it meets their needs. The custom packaging of the custom transparent blister cards offers this advantage.

Many experts in the creation of trap blisters, which can reduce the amount of plastic you need overall. Additionally, they may be able to create your blister packaging using materials with recycled content.

Types of blister cards:

Face seal blister: Face seal blister consists of a custom thermometer PVC blister, which is sealed to the front of a blister card by using heat.

Trap blister: The flange of a thermometer blister will be trapped in between the front or back of a blister card.

Two-piece blister: This is known as a clam shell package where the front and rear blister match up to capture a graphic card and product between each other. The two halves can be snapped or sealed together using RF technology.

Mock Clam shells

Clam shells are perhaps the most protective option for many products, and very tamper proof, but they are more expensive to produce than blister Blister Cards packaging, which is why a “mock” clam shell can be an affordable solution. With these blisters, there will be a small plastic lip added to the design that extends slightly past your blister card.

Combination clam shell and blister: This style is suitable for such a product which requires having a recluse-able feature and it helps the product to be viewed from both the sides of a blister card.

Advantages of Blister Packs

Whether designing a custom blister or using a stock blister, you can ensure that your package effectively showcases your products. The primary advantages of blister packing include:

Prevents contamination. Blister card packaging provides a reliable seal around products. This means air, chemicals, and any other substances are hindered from compromising the contents within the cavity.

Display important information. Most industries require—whether for compliance or practical reasons—certain details to be easily readable to consumers. This can be a “contains small parts” warning on a children’s toy, a dosage guide for a health supplement, or a color blending guide for a watercolor set. From a liability standpoint, this feature is essential. It’s also a phenomenal way to provide additional value to your customer.

Brand-enhancing designs. Blister card packaging empowers brands with versatile design. Just as backing space can be used to inform consumers, it can serve as a display board for stunning graphics and compelling images. With a transparent pocket, brands can creatively integrate a visible product with elaborate designs on the packaging.

Added security. Since blister card packaging is typically per-formed and sealed, products benefit from increased protection. This makes it easier for consumers and retailers to identify whether a product has been tampered with or damaged. Again, higher-priced goods tend to require superior levels of protection.

Cost effective. Because it can be customized to fit the specific contours of a wide variety of products, blister card packaging saves on waste. This also means there isn’t excess weight typically associated with bulky or heavy packaging—translating into lower shipping costs. All this contributes to streamlined and efficient packaging.

Blister card packaging certainly isn’t appropriate in every situation, but when it fits your product and company goals, it gives your brand a cost-effective option that prevents  contamination, adds security, and enhances your design possibilities.
